Cellix, an instrumentation company, is providing new and exciting microfluidic technology based solution in the areas of drug discovery, diagnostics and medical research. Stemming from a collaborative partnership between the Departments of Physics and Clinical Medicine in Trinity College Dublin, Cellix has developed and produced disposable biochips capable of mimicking human capillaries. Their biochips allow detailed dissection of disease processes at the cellular level where shear stress or continuous flow parameters are known to affect physiologic events. This innovation embodies the vista of microfluidics and nanotechnology furnishing the benefits of reduced sample and reagent volume (microlitre range), speedy assay time combined with the potential for automation and parallel processing. The system on offer the Microfluidic SP Series comprises disposable biochips with a sophisticated pumping system and DucoCell analysis software; a fast and reliable software package also applicable in analysing cell image sets from static experiments. Mirus Nanopump
Cellix’s Mirus Nanopump is a patented syringe pump capable of delivery incredibly accurate flow rates / shear stresses. This can also be upgraded with the MultiFlow8 (Manifold) such that 8 assays may be run simultaneously in the Vena8 biochip. Biochips
We currently offer two biochips, the Vena8 and the VenaEC which contain capillaries. In these capillaries, cells or whole bloodsamples may be flowed over adhesion molecules (Vena8) or endothelial cells (VenaEC).

DucoCell Software
