Primary antibodies are used to detect a target of interest by binding directly to an epitope on a protein within a sample. Any binding interaction between a primary antibody and the protein of interest is detected using a secondary antibody which will bind to the primary antibody. Primary antibodies can be used in numerous applications such as Western blotting, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluoresence, ELISA, and Lateral Flow. At Fitzgerald Industries we offer a range monoclonal antibodies and polyclonal antibodies.
Whereas a primary antibody is raised against a specific target antigen such as proteins, peptides or other antigenic molecules, secondary antibodies are raised to bind to primary antibodies or their associated fragments and regions. The high specificity of secondary antibodies makes them extremely useful in laboratory and industrial applications. Secondary antibodies are produced in monoclonal and polyclonal forms with specificity for the vast majority of primary antibodies and their fragments. Fluorescent/radioactive/molecular labels, tags and probes conjugated to secondary antibodies further increase their usefulness in laboratory applications. Indirect detection of a target molecule with secondary antibodies by binding to a primary antibody which in turn binds to the target has the advantage of massively increased sensitivity due to the extra signal amplification from multiple secondary antibodies binding to the single primary antibody; this has valuable applications in quantitative and qualitative assays, purification processes and more. Fitzgerald Industries offers a vast range of secondary antibodies for sale. Our monoclonal and polyclonal secondary antibodies are available from all commonly utilized host species. Our high quality antibodies are available in purified forms or conjugated to the full range of tags and labels such as biotin, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), alkaline phosphate and others. IgG, IgM, IgE, IgA, and IgD raised in avian and mammalian hosts as well as Fc specific, Fab and Fab’2 fragments and light, heavy, lambda and gamma chains are available. Fitzgerald’s range of secondary antibodies is the ideal choice for ELISA, Immunoblotting, Flow Cytometry, Lateral flow and immunoassays and are available in bulk quantities or smaller sizes and titres. Our catalog is constantly updated with new targets so please do not hesitate to contact us with your requirements.
Proteins are polypeptide chains made up of amino acids, they are one of the essential types of macromolecules in an organism, participating in all the cellular processes that are necessary for life. Proteins are created in cells through the transcription of DNA into RNA followed by the translation of that RNA into the protein in the cytoplasm. The thousands of amino acids which make up a protein are folded into complex shapes which determine its function and interactions. Proteins can be native, i.e. extracted in unmodified form from a source animal or cell, or recombinant, in which a recombinant segment of genetic material is inserted into a cell which then begins translation and production of the recombinant protein of interest. Fitzgerald Industries offers a huge range of thousands of native and recombinant proteins for sale. Our selections of high quality, highly pure proteins are the ideal choice for use as experimental controls or antigens to generate an immune response. They are also ideal for use in ELISA, western blot, immunoassays, lateral flow, Immunofluorescence and other laboratory processes. The majority of our range is available in purified form either native or recombinant or conjugated with tags and labels such as fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), biotin, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), alkaline phosphate and others. As well our wide variety of proteins, we also offer a comprehensive range of blocking peptides for use as negative controls to eliminate non-specific binding to proteins other than the antigen of interest in an immunoassay, greatly enhancing the accuracy of the procedure. A range of hapten conjugates, also extremely beneficial in the development of sensitive quantitative and qualitative immunoassays are also available. Our catalog of native and recombinant proteins is available in bulk quantities or individual sizes and is continuously updated with new antigens from the full range of expression systems and source animals and cells so please do not hesitate to contact us with your requirements.
Immunoglobulins are large, Y-shaped proteins produced by B-cells that are used by the immune system to identify and neutralize foreign objects such as bacteria and viruses. The immunoglobulin recognizes a unique part of each antigen. Each tip of the Y shape targets an epitope on the foreign antigen, allowing the two molecules to bind with extreme precision. Using this binding mechanism, an antibody can identify and label a microbe or another infected cell for attack by the immune system, or in some cases neutralize the target itself by binding to and blocking one or more of its processes. The production of immunoglobulins is the main function of the humoral immune system, there are five distinct classes based on structural and antigenic properties: IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, and IgM. If you are looking for highly pure, high quality immunoglobulins and their associated isotypes for use in medical or industrial diagnostics and research, serology, ELISA, western blotting, Immunofluorescence and other immunoassays then Fitzgerald Industries offers a huge range of immunoglobulins for sale from a full selection of avian and mammalian host species. As well as purified titres of the five main immunoglobulin classes, Fitzgerald provides the whole range of alpha, beta and gamma Ig isotypes, fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and biotin conjugated immunoglobulins, Fc specific, Fab and Fab2 fragments and heavy, light, gamma and lambda chains from multiple host species are also available. Our immunoglobulins are available to buy in bulk quantities or smaller titres on request with a wide variety of hosts, targets and conjugates to suit your needs. Our range of immunoglobulins and antibodies continuously updated with new targets so please do not hesitate to contact us with your specific requirements.
