Description: S5/1 is an anti-rabbit/ ferret/ cow/ human monoclonal antibody that forms an immune complex with the CD88 antigen. CD88 (also known as C5R1 or C5AR) is a 43 kD transmembrane glycoprotein that is expressed on the surface of cells like endothelial cells, dendritic cells, granulocytes and macrophages. CD88 is associated with a variety of biologically interesting macromolecules/ligands, for example, anaphylatoxin. CD88 is a relatively rare antibody target, with fewer than 700 publications in the last decade. Even still, CD88 is often used in flow cytometry applications as a phenotypic marker for differentiation of cell types, especially in the study of innate immunity and cell biology. This antibody was purified through affinity chromatography and conjugated to PE/XFD700 (ex/em = 566/721 nm). XFD700 is manufactured by AAT Bioquest, and it has the same chemical structure of Alexa Fluor® 700 (Alexa Fluor® is the trademark of ThermoFisher). It is compatible with the 561 nm laser and 710/50 nm bandpass filter (for example, as in the BD Special Order LSRFortessa™ Cell Analyzer).
