Description

Description: Recombinant human BRD4 Bromodomain 2, His-Tagged (HUNK1, accession number O60885, amino acids 341 to 470) containing an N-terminal His-tag, expressed in E. coli. BRD4 is a member of the BET sub-family of bromodomain-containing proteins, which also includes BRD2, BRD3 and BRDT. BET proteins have two bromodomains and an ET domain C-terminal to the second bromodomain. BRD4 serves as a cofactor for Myc and is crucial to Myc's role in acute myeloid leukemia. Inhibition of BRD4 binding suppresses Myc activity and leads to differentiation of AML cells and elimination of AML stem cells.
