Description: Cytokine-induced neutrophil chemo attractant 3(CINC-3) is, also known as rat MIP- 2, a member of the alpha (CXC) subfamily of chemokines, which is expressed by cytokine-stimulated rat alveolar macrophages and fibroblasts. The amino acid sequence of rat CINC-3 is 88% identical to murine MIP-2. CINC-3 is also known to be a potent chemo tactic factor for rat neutrophil both in vitro and in vivo. Nakagawa's group at Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical Univ. in 1994 has postulated that rat neutrophil have at least two classes of CINC receptors, a class of CINC-3 specific ones and a second common receptor shared by all CINCs.
