Description: Digoxigenin (DIG) is a hapten, a small molecule with high antigenicity, which is used in many biological detections similarly to other popular haptens such as 2,4-Dinitrophenol (DNP) and biotin. Typically, digoxigenin is conjugated to a macrobiomolecule (e.g., proteins, nucleic acids, etc) to be detected. Anti-digoxigenin antibodies are labeled with fluorescent dyes or enzymes, directly or secondarily, for visualization and detection. Digoxigenin C9 acid is an affordable building block which can be used for attaching the digoxigenin moiety to peptides, proteins, amino-substituted oligonucleotides or other biological molecules. Digoxigenin-labeled biomolecules are used for biological detections in combination with anti-digoxigenin antibodies of high affinity and specificity.
