Description: The FMK peptides are potent, cell permeable, irreversible capase inhibitors. It is useful for detecting and monitoring apoptosis in vitro and in vivo applications. BOC-ASP(OMe)-FMK is the key intermediate for developing and preparing FMK-based capase inhibitors and probes. The Asp(OMe)-FMK-based caspase inhibitors are cell permeable and irreversibly binds to activated caspases to block apoptosis. Caspases, which act as molecular chainsaw are the central components of apoptosis response. Caspases are cysteine proteases that cleave after aspartate residue in their substrates. At least 7 of 14 known mammalian caspases have important role in apoptosis.
