Description

Description: A20-binding inhibitor of NFkB activation (ABIN-1) is involved in NFkB-dependent gene expression and plays an important role in numerous cellular processes including stress responses, inflammation and cell proliferation. ABIN-1 increases cell surface CD4 (T4) antigen expression, and it interacts with HIV-1 matrix protein and is packaged into virions. Overexpression of ABIN-1can .inhibit viral replication. ABIN-1 may also regulate matrix nuclear localization, both nuclear import of PIC (Preintegration complex) and export of GAG polyprotein and viral genomic RNA during virion production. ABIN-1 is strongly expressed in peripheral blood lymphocytes, spleen and skeletal muscle, and is weakly expressed in the brain.
