Application Notes
This neutralising antibody blocks Hepatitis A virus attachment to host cell receptors and interferes with viral uncoating (Wang et al, 2017). This antibody recognises conformational epitopes by ELISA, but not linear epitopes in immunoblot analysis (Wang et al, 2017). A Fab derived from this antibody has been used to determine the structure of Hepatitis A viral particles, through both cryo-EM microscopy and X-ray crystallography (Wang et al, 2017).
