The specificity of this antibody has been confirmed in immunoblotting experiments (Strickland et al, 1990) and Western blot analysis (Mikhailenko et al, 2001). This antibody, when radiolabelled, has been used in cellular internalisation assays using CHO cells transfected with various receptors (Mikhailenko et al, 2001) and HT1080 fibrosarcoma cells transfected with MT1-MMP (Rozanov et al, 2004). This antibody has also been used in immunoblotting analysis of murine brain samples (Billings et al, 2007), murine vascular smooth muscle cells (Lehti et al, 2009), murine bone-marrow-derived macrophages (Chen et al, 2017) and human amnion epithelium and mesoderm samples (Lee et al, 2010). Additionally, it has been used in Western blot analysis of the CXCR3:LRP1 complex from human glioma cells and coronary artery smooth muscle cells (Boye et al, 2017). This antibody does not inhibit LRP-mediated internalisation of activated alpha2-macroglobulin, nor affect the binding of activated alpha2-macroglobulin to immobilised LRP (Mikhailenko et al, 2001).
This chimeric human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2b format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
