Application Notes
C5/D5 is recommended for staining cell surface CD47 as well as neutralising CD47. Furthermore, it is capable of inhibiting peripheral mononuclear neutrophils migration across polarised monolayers of the human intestinal epithelial cell line T84 in a bidirectional fashion (Parkos et al., 1996). This antibody is also very effective in detecting CD47 in flow cytometry; this was demonstrated with various cells, such as CaCO2 and polymorphonuclear neutrophils (Liu et al., 2001). Finally, C5D5 was also utilised in the immunofluorescence staining of the basolateral surfaces of methanol-fixed CaCO2 monolayers expressing exogenously transfected human CD47 (Liu et al., 2001).
