This antibody has been used in immunoblot analysis of crude membranes from rat and mouse brain (Andrews et al, 2019; PMID:30667360), as well as crude C. elegans extracts (Andrews et al, 2019; PMID:30667360) and lysates of COS-1 cells transfected to express Kv4.2 (Shibata et al, 2003). It has also been used in immunohistochemical analysis of adult rat and mouse brain sections (Sack et al, 2013; Andrews et al, 2019; PMID:30667360), and immunofluorescence analysis of surface Kv4.2 expression by Kv4.2-transfected COS-1 cells (Shibata et al, 2003). Using ELISA, pre-incubation with soluble Kv4.2 peptide has been shown to block the binding of this antibody to its antigen (Sack et al, 2013). This antibody, when labelled with gold, has been used in electron microscopy to assess endogenous Kv4.2 expression in rat hippocampal sections (Kim et al, 2007).
This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
