This chimeric human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
Application Notes
This antibody can be used to identify and analyse Monkypox virus (MPV). This clone was used to identify monkypox virus via ELISA (Czerny et al., 1994; pmid: 7513922). VACV-5C7 can be used to develop diagnostic assays which could allow for the detection of orthopox viruses, especially monkypox virus. In Q3 of 2024, the WHO declared monkeypox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. This product serves as a powerful tool for related research efforts.
