This potent binder can be used to detect the O antigen of F. tularensis. The antigen specificity of this antibody was tested using ELISA. It is capable of binding to heat killed live vaccine strain and SchuS4 F. tularensis strains in an ELISA. This antibody was also capable of detecting the longer chains of the lipopolysaccharide ladder in a western blot assay (PMID: 21466282). Ab52 can be used as a reporter to monitor the response of vaccine recipients to protective B-cell epitopes of F. tularensis OAg (PMID: 22486311).
This chimeric dog antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2a format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
