Application Notes
This antibody can be used to inhibit the binding of IL-6 to its receptor IL-6R. It is also reported to inhibit IL-6 functions. The binding characterization of this antibody was done using ELISA (US5795965). This antibody was also reported to inhibit IL-6 dependent tumor cell growth (PMID: 8152440). This antibody was used in a study wherein the combined effect of antigrowth factor receptor antibodies was tested on growth limitation of myeloma cells (PMID: 8120920).
