Application Notes
In ELISAs, the Fab fragment was found to bind to recombinant HA protein. The Fab fragment neutralized viruses of the H1, H2, H5, and H6 subtypes at half-maximal inhibitory concentrations in the ug/ml range. Passive immunization with the Fab fragment protected mice from a lethal challenge with A/Puerto Rico/8/1934(H1N1) virus. The crystal structure of the antibody in complex with HA from a pandemic H1N1 influenza virus was determined.
