Application Notes

The original version of this antibody (rat IgG2b) was raised and tested against CPA, FPV, and MEV and was found to inhibit and neutralize CPV, FPV, and MEV-a and -b in neutralization and HI assays. It was also used in RIAs. In the HI test, it was found to inhibit CPV-a;-b;-c-;-d; and -e, FPV-a; -b; -c, RPV-a; -b; -c; -d; and -e, and MEV-a; -b; -c; -d; -e; -f; -g; and -h. In the RIA, it was found to react with CPV-d and FPV-b (Parrish and Carmichael, 1983; PMID: 6194613). The Fab version of this antibody was used in a cryoEM analysis of capsid:Fab complexes, and its Kd was estimated via ELISA as ~6.1 x 10-9 M (Nelson et al., 2007; PMID: 17217977). The Fab version of this antibody was crystallized, and its structure was determined (Hafenstein et al., 2009; PMID: 19321620).
