Description: Caspase-8 is a member of the caspase family of cysteine proteases and plays a key role in mediating Fas (CD95) and tumor necrosis factor-1 (TNFR-1) induced apoptosis. Activation of caspase 8 by proteolytic cleavage leads to the release of the active p18 and p10 subunits. These processed subunits associate to form an active enzyme.
