Description
Description: CD3 is closely associated on the lymphocyte cell surface with the T cell antigen receptor TcR. It is believed that the CD3 complex transmits activational signals to the T cell's interior upon antigen recognition by TcR. CD45 (LCA), a protein tyrosine phosphatase, is a potent regulator of signal transduction by the CD3 complex. It reacts with the majority of peripheral blood T lymphocytes, a major proportion of thymocytes, the majority of T cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells, Sezary leukemias and ~70% of acute lymphoblastic leukemias of T cell origin.

Specificity
Recognizes chicken CD3. Recognizes a complex of at least three polypeptides of Mr 20-, 19-, and 17kD (two of which are N-glycosylated) on chicken T cells. Also coprecipitates a polypeptide of 90kD from digitonin solubilized T cell lysates, which can be reduced to two polypeptides of Mr 50- and 40kD.
