Description: MaxLight™550 is a new Yellow-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™546, 555, DyLight™549 , Cy3™, TRITC and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (550nm); Emission (575nm); Extinction Coefficient 150,000. The CD14 molecule is found predominantly on monocytes and macrophages in Flow Cytometry (Not Tested); it is less strongly expressed on granulocytes, and is absent from stem cells and myeloid cells of very early differentiation states. In immunohistochemistry, the CD14 molecule is found to be present on Langerhans cells, follicular dendritic cells, histocytes and high endothelial venules. In FLISA, recognizes the soluble form CD14. Reported to block the binding of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to monocytes (2). Removal of sodium azide is recommended prior to use in functional assays.
Antibody recognizes a monocyte surface antigen of 55kD classified as CD14.
