Description: Cyclins are regulatory subunits of the cyclin-dependent kinases (cdk), which control transition at different specific phases of the cell cycle. In mammalian cells, cyclin D2 plays a critical role in G1 to S transition and is a putative proto-oncogene. Cyclin D2 can phosphorylate pRB when associated with cdk4 and/or cdk6.
