Description

Description: MaxLight™490 is a new Blue-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to DyLight™488, Alexa Fluor™488 and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (491nm); Emission (515nm); Extinction Coefficient 73,000. DHEA is the most abundant hormone in the human body and a precursor of all the sex hormones. It is synthesised principally in the adrenal glands and gonads from cholesterol, through conversion to pregnenolone and 17a-Hydroxypregnenolone, by the action of P450 enzymes. DHEA is mainly found in serum as the sulphated form (DHEAS), a reversible reaction catalysed by sulfotransferase in the adrenal glands, liver and small intestine.

Specificity

Recognizes Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate. This antibody was raised against DHEA but demonstrates greater reactivity with DHEAS. Crossreactivity: DHEAS: 100% , DHEA: 13%, Progesterone: <0.01%, Testosterone: 0.02%. Broad species reactivity is expected.
