Description

Description: MaxLight™490 is a new Blue-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to DyLight™488, Alexa Fluor™488 and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (491nm); Emission (515nm); Extinction Coefficient 73,000. Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a virus of the family Caliciviridae that causes disease in cats. It is one of the two important viral causes of respiratory infection in cats, the other being feline herpesvirus. FCV can be isolated from about 50 percent of cats with upper respiratory infection. Cheetahs are the other species of the family Felidae known to become infected naturally.

Additional Text

Specificity

Recognizes Feline Calicivirus (FCV). Does not crossreact with FIV or FeLV. Detects a 63kD band in Western Blots, representing the viral capsid protein. May also be used in immunofluorescence techniques to detect viral infection and has neutralizing activity against feline calcivirus.
