Description

Description: MaxLight™650 is a new Far-IR stable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™647, DyLight™649, Cy5™ and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (655nm); Emission (676nm); Extinction Coefficient 250,000. Glutamate receptors are the major excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the central nervous system (CNS). They play critical roles in the mechanisms of synaptic plasticity and in the development of the nervous system. These receptors may be involved in the neuronal cell death that occurs in several neuropathological conditions.

Specificity

Recognizes rat Glutamate Receptor 2 (GluR2) at 102kD. Other proteins (66kD or lower MW) appear to be breakdown products of GluR2. In IHC, GluR2 is widely distributed at both the cellular and synaptic levels. Recognizes GluR2 present in a vast majority of, but not all, GABAergic interneurons. Does not crossreact with other AMPA/Kainate GluR subunits. Species Crossreactivity: Macaque monkey and canine.
