Application Notes

GeneTex'Shuman tissue slides can be used with any antibody shown to be effective in formalin-fixed tissue using a standard immunostaining protocol. In order to avoid false negative results from DNA or RNA sequences not being present in a 4 µm cellular cross-section, 10 µm tissue sections are recommended. 10 µm single tissue slides are available upon request. This product has not been evaluated for effectiveness in ISH or FISH applications.

Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue is useful for a variety of applications including the targeting of proteins, RNA, and DNA by means of Immunohistochemistry (IHC), in-situ hybridization (ISH) and fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH), respectively.
