Description: This gene encodes the ligand of the tyrosine-kinase receptor encoded by the KIT locus. This ligand is a pleiotropic factor that acts in utero in germ cell and neural cell development, and hematopoiesis, all believed to reflect a role in cell migration. In adults, it functions pleiotropically, while mostly noted for its continued requirement in hematopoiesis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Application Notes
ELISA: Use at a concentration of 0.5 µg/ml. Allows detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hSCF. Neut: Use at a concentration of 0.008 - 0.012 µg/ml for [ND50] of the biological activity of hSCF (10 ng/ml). WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Storage Note
Store as concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), store at 4C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20C or below. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
