Description: This buffer is intended for heat-induced epitope retrieval (HIER) of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections prior to application of antibodies. In IHC, commonly used fixatives (like formalin) mask tissue antigens through cross-linking, often resulting in poor or no staining. The use of this buffer on FFPE tissue sections improves antibody accessibility to tissue antigens.

Application Notes

Deparaffinize FFPE tissue section as described in your protocol. Hydrate tissue with PBS. Immerse tissue slides in the 1X working buffer and heat for 10-20 minutes at 100C; OR in a pressure cooker for 3-5 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. The tissue sections are then ready for the next step in the IHC protocol.

Short Description

Please note this buffer is at 10X concentration. It must be diluted 1:10 to obtain the 1X (10 mM Citrate) working buffer.
