Description

Description: This gene encodes a member of the granzyme subfamily of proteins, part of the peptidase S1 family of serine proteases. The encoded preproprotein is secreted by natural killer (NK) cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) and proteolytically processed to generate the active protease, which induces target cell apoptosis. This protein also processes cytokines and degrades extracellular matrix proteins, and these roles are implicated in chronic inflammation and wound healing. Mice lacking a functional copy of this gene exhibit impaired immune cell-mediated cytolysis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]

Note

For In vitro laboratory use only. Not for any clinical, therapeutic, or diagnostic use in humans or animals. Not for animal or human consumption

Application Notes

Determined by its ability to cleave a synthetic chromogentic Granzyme B substrate. The expected specific activity, when using the Ac-IEPD-pNA substrate at 250C, is greater than 750 nM/min/µg of enzyme.

Short Description

Recombinant murine Granzyme B is a glycosylated 227 amino acid protein, comprising the mature active portion of the murine Granzyme B precursor. The apparent molecular weight is 28.9 kDa by mass spectrometry.

Storage Note

Store at -20C or below. After reconstitution, keep as concentrated solution. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
