Description

Description: MaxLight™550 is a new Yellow-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™546, 555, DyLight™549 , Cy3™, TRITC and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (550nm); Emission (575nm); Extinction Coefficient 150,000. Integrins are heterodimeric cell surface receptors composed of alpha and beta subunits, which mediate cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix attachments. Aberrant integrin expression has been found in many epithelial tumors. Changes in integrin expression have been shown to be important for the growth and early metastatic capacity of melanoma cells. Integrin alphaV beta6 is upregulated in cancers and during tissue remodelling but is absent from resting adult tissues. Integrin alphaV beta6 promotes invasion and correlates with poor survival and therefore makes a promising therapeutic target.

Gene Name

ITGAV

Specificity

Recognizes mouse integrin alphaV beta6. Blocks activity against mouse and human alphaV beta6. Does not recognize alphaV or other alphaV integrins. Species Crossreactivity: human and rat. Because the antibody was raised in knockout mice, it is likely to recognize the receptor in other species.
