Description

Description: Interleukin 22 (IL-22), also called IL-10-related T cell-derived inducible factor or IL-TIF, is a secreted cytokine that contributes to the inflammatory response in vivo. IL-22 is expressed in T cells and mast cells in response to IL-9 or lipopolysaccharide. IL-22 monomers bind to a class II cytokine receptor that is a heterodimer of CRF2-9 (IL-22 Ra1) and CRF2-4 (IL-10 Rb). Human IL-22 is a 179aa protein with a 33aa signal peptide, three N-glycosylation sites and two intramolecular disulfide bonds; the mature protein shows 81% and 77% aa identity with mouse and rat IL-22, respectively.
