Description: CD80 (B7-1) is a type I integral membrane protein related very closely to CD86 (B7-2). A main function of CD80 is the costimulation of T-cells through ligation of CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4). T-cells activate with binding of CD28 to CD80 and binding of CD80 to CTLA-4 results in inhibition of T-cells. The clone 16-10A1 has the ability to block the costimulatory activity of CD80 while exhibiting no effect on the activity of CD86.
