Description: This targeted toxin (molecular weight 33 kDa) recognizes the galanin-1 receptor. Galanin is a 29-amino acid peptide (30 amino acids in humans) implicated in a variety of functions including nociception, appetite, learning, and memory. Galanin-SAP is a chemical conjugate of rat galanin and the ribosome-inactivating protein, saporin. This product is routinely tested by cytotoxicity assay.

Usage Information
Galanin-SAP eliminates cells expressing the galanin-1 receptor. All other cells are left untouched, even when they are the predominant cell type. Not suitable for retrograde transport.
