Application Notes
This monoclonal antibody is a general marker for neurohormonal peptide producing cells (APUD) and neoplasms derived from these cells. Utrastructural studies have shown that the antigen is located in the secretory granules and therefore poorly granulated endocrine cells stain weakly or not at all. This should be considered when using this antibody. Recommended for positive control: Adrenal medulla, pancreas. The antibody can be used on acetone fixed frozen sections and formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue. Pretreatment is not necessary. Optimal dilution should be tested by serial dilutions, 1:10 is advised based on the Indirect method. With a normal ABC method the dilution can be 5-10 times higher. Dilute immediately before use with PBS or Tris.
