Description: MaxLight™490 is a new Blue-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to DyLight™488, Alexa Fluor™488 and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (491nm); Emission (515nm); Extinction Coefficient 73,000. Mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule-1 (MadCAM-1) is a cell-surface immunogloblin (Ig) superfamily member composed of two extracellular Ig domains, followed by a mucin-like domain, a transmembrane domain, and a short cutoplasmic domain. The molecule is similar to ICAM1 and VCAM1. It interacts via its N-terminal Ig domain with the lymphocyte homing receptor alpha4 beta73, which plays a critical role in forming the gut-associated lymphoid system. MAdCAM-1 promotes the adhesion of T and B cells, monocytes/macrophages, and potentially eosinophils, basophils, and differentiated mast cells to the vascular endothelium. At least seven alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different protein isoforms have been found for this gene. The molecular weight is about 43kD, and it is highly expressed on high endothelial venules(VEC) and lamina propia venules found in the small intestine.
MADCAM1
Q13477
Recognizes human mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule 1 (MAdCAM-1) a 60kD transmembrane protein that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. MAdCAM-1 is strongly expressed on mucosal lymphoid tissue and high endothelial venules of Peyer's patches. Human MAdCAM-1 interacts with the beta 7 integrin LPAM-1 (alpha4beta7), CD62L, and VLA-4 (alpha4beta1) and is involved in lymphocyte trafficking, this clone recognizes the mucin domain of MAdCAM-1. Does not block the function of MAdCAM-1 (in press).
