Description: Receptor-like protein tyrosine phosphatases (RPTPs) represent a new family of transmembrane proteins that are thought to transduce external signals by dephosphorylating phosphotyrosine residues on intracellular substRates. RPTPu is a prototypic receptor-like protein-tyrosine phosphatase (RPTP) that mediates homotypic cell-cell interactions. Intracellularly, RPTPu consists of a relatively large juxtamembrane region (about 150 amino acids) and two conserved phosphatase domains. As in most RPTPs, the first (membrane-proximal) PTP domain of RPTPu is Catalytically active, whereas its second (C-terminal) domain is inactive. RPTPu is involved in cell-cell adhesion through homophilic interactions and may also play a key role in signal transduction and growth control.

3D7 is useful for western blot, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titRation.
The antibody is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C. For prolonged storage prepare appropriate aliquots and store at or below -20°C. Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly in the dark at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance or the concentration of the product.
