Studying highly infectious airborne viruses like SARS-CoV-2 is limited to labs with access to BSL-3 labs. However, SBI’s recently developed lentiviral packaging systems generate lentivirus particles pseudotyped with the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein, which enables the study of SARS-CoV-2 in BSL-2 conditions.
